What is Hydrocolloid Dressings?

Hydrocolloid dressings provide a moist and insulating healing environment which protects uninfected wounds while allowing the body's own enzymes to help heal wounds. These dressings are unique because they don't have to be changed as often as some other wound dressings and are easy to apply.

 

Main structural composition:

Shinrise Medical's hydrocolloid dressings are composed of the following three layer or more layers: the backing layer (polyurethane film), the adhesive layer ( acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive), the core (sodium carboxymethyl cellulose) and the release layer ( glassine release paper ),can blocking bacteria and waterproof.

 

Product Features:

These wound dressings are helpful for use on wounds that are:
* Clean and uninfected
* Free of dirt or other debris
* Dry with little to no drainage
* Medium thickness

 

Scope of application:

This product is suitable for wet wound healing. It absorbs and controls the exudate of the wound through the foam absorbing layer. It is used for the coverage and nursing of the non chronic wound with more exudates.

 

Generally, hydrocolloid dressings last from 3 to 7 days. Sometimes a hydrocolloid dressing starts coming up at the edges earlier.If so, it needs to be changed earlier. Because they keep the wound moist and protected, the wound does not need to be cleaned daily. In fact, wounds covered by hydrocolloid dressings will heal faster if they are not regularly exposed to air.
 

However, because a wound covered with hydrocolloid dressings is not easy to check, it is important to use this type of dressing only on wounds which are completely clean and absent of infection.

Indication:

-Can be used to control skin ulcer ,leg ulcer and pressure sores;
-Light abrasion wounds;
-Second degree burn wounds;
-Necrotic wound;
-The bordered and standard products are mainly used on light 
  medium exuding pressure sores and leg ulcers;
-The thin products are mainly used on dry to light exuding super-
  ficial wounds, surgical post operative wounds and abrasions. 
  It is also used on small wounds towards the end of healing 
  phase.
